One of the historic figures in modern American Journalism, Seth Lipsky will present a lecture and book signing on his new book, The Citizen's Constitution: An Annotated Guide, Mr. Lipsky is the founder of the New York Sun and was its Editor-in-Chief from 2002 to 2008. In addition, he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in editorial writing in 1991, the founding editor of the Forward newspaper, and a former contributing editor of the Wall Street Journal.
His book provides a running commentary on the Constitution sentence by sentence, and often clause by clause or word by word, in a highly readable fashion, infusing every provision of the document with color and background, and highlighting its meaning in an era of big government and shrinking freedoms.
The Citizen's Constitution makes the case that Americans' age-old rights and privileges are more critical--and more in need of understanding and defending--than ever before. It is a book that is both erudite and entertaining, and could not be more relevant to current events.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session.
Entrance fee is $10 per person at the door, and registration is required by emailing RSVP@CJHSLA.org.
